The Staying Put programme is a new volunteer initiative designed to offer voluntary support to over the 50's to help them feel more able to stay put in their own home.
Are you warm, compassionate, and keen to help others?
Are you able to listen to what a person has to say, and support them to get their views heard?
Can you find information to help others make choices and decisions?
Can you remain independant from professionals, and promote the persons progression in social, emotional, educational religious and cultural needs?
Can you do all of the above, plus many other things to help someone find their voice and get what they want?
If the answer is YES, seAp would be pleased to talk with you about they services they offer, and the type of person they are looking for.
It is essential you are a good communicator, able to draw on your personal experience of situations or environments, eg ill health, mental health, disabilities and or caring for others. You don't need to be an expert, we want to hear from people of all ages and from all walks of life.
Advocates listen to what a person has to say, and will support them to get their views heard.
Full training will be given on an ongoing basis. You will be reliable and organised, comfortable with paperwork and have experience of completing records, and working within guidelines and policies.
