Torbay Together has changed!

On the 23rd of April we launched some pretty major updates to the Torbay Together website to improve how the website looks and works.

What’s changed?

Quite a lot.

You will still be able to use the timebank to exchange time for credits, adding offers and requests and searching for activities in your neighbourhood, but how the website looks is very different, we’ve also made lots of improvements to how things work too!

What do I need to do?

  1. Update your password
  2. Update your profile and preferences
  3. Have a look around the new website and let us know your thoughts

1. Update your password:

As part of security improvements you will be required to reset your password, when you try to sign up for the first time to the new website you will see a message asking you to set a new password. Follow the instructions on screen, we’ve included them below:

  • Go to
  • Type in your account email
  • Click “Send password reset link”
  • Check your email inbox (including junk and spam folders)
  • Click the link in the email
  • Type in your new password (try to use something secure but memorable)
  • Log in to your account

If you have a problem resetting your email, we’ve included a few common issues:

I’m getting an error message when adding my email address:

“Sorry there was a problem with trying to reset your password. Please contact your community manager.”

If you see this message it means the system hasn’t recognised your email, there are a few reasons why this might happen, here are a few and how to get around them:

  1. You’ve missed typed your email or used the wrong email
    Double check the latest email from the website and make sure you have the right email address, then double check the spelling. Try adding the email again. If not move on to step 2.

  2. You signed up with you social account e.g. facebook, twitter, linkedin or google plus.
    If you signed up with any of these accounts you’ll need to sign in with your username. If you have forgotten your username or aren’t sure please email with your name, which timebank you are part of and any other information to help us provide you with your login details.

  3. You don’t have an email address or have forgotten which email you used.
    Please contact your community builder via your normal method, they will be able to help access your account. If you do have an email then you can also send an email with your details to help locate your account details.


Why are we asking you to reset your password?

Quite simply as part of our website updates we’ve decided to make passwords more secure, unfortunately it is not possible for us to make these changes without requiring every user to update their passwords.

2. Update your profile

We’ve improved how profiles look and added in the ability to set up best match preferences, here’s how to set up your new profile to get the most out of Torbay Together:

1. Tell others a bit about you

Add your profile image and a background image to personalise your profile and make it pop. Your description is still there but you can also add links to your social media accounts and allow users to email you directly if you wish.

  • Log in and go to ‘My dashboard’,
  • Click on ‘My Torbay Together’
  • Click ‘My profile’.
  • Fill in the info and scroll down to ‘Save changes’.

2. Set up your best match preference

Best Match matches you to relatable activities and members. Save your neighbourhood, skills and interests then and simply click on the Best Match button when searching for activities or members and it will show you matching results.

Once set you can choose to display your preferences on your profile - so others can see your skills and interests.

  • Log in and go to ‘My dashboard’,
  • Click on ‘My Torbay Together’
  • Click ‘My profile’.
  • Click ‘Set up best match preferences’.
  • Select your options then scroll down to click ‘Save changes’. Once saved scroll down to choose which options by moving the toggle to public - click ‘save changes’.
